Lead Intelligence Engine
The Lead Intelligence Engine builds a small, carefully chosen list of target accounts for account-based marketing (typically 20–100), researches each one, finds the people to contact, and writes the results into the client's HubSpot when someone approves. It works from the client's G2M and, when HubSpot is connected, from the deals the client has actually won.
What it does
The Lead Intelligence Engine builds a small, carefully chosen list of target accounts for account-based marketing (typically 20–100), researches each one, finds the people to contact, and writes the results into the client's HubSpot when someone approves. It works from the client's G2M and, when HubSpot is connected, from the deals the client has actually won.
Set it up
"What's the setup status of the lead intelligence engine?" shows which steps are done for the client and the next one to do.
- HubSpot — Connect HubSpot (read + write scopes for pushes).
- Go-to-market strategy (G2M) — Build it from the website, or import an existing strategy doc.
- Effective ICP (from closed-won deals) (optional) — Refine the ICP from what actually closes.
Discovery itself only needs the G2M: Nexus can find accounts before HubSpot is connected. HubSpot is needed to refine the ICP from closed-won deals and to push results into the CRM.
Steps marked ✋ need a person:
- ✋ Someone who administers the client's HubSpot portal clicks the connect link Nexus posts and approves access (see the HubSpot connection guide).
- ✋ Review the target list and set each account's tier before approving it.
- ✋ Approve each HubSpot push after reading its preview.
Your Nexus team turns the engine on once the required steps are done.
Use it
The work runs in stages, each one reviewed before the next:
- Refine the ICP from closed-won deals (optional, needs HubSpot).
- Discover target accounts.
- Review the list and approve it.
- Research the approved accounts (competitors, positioning gaps, a why-now angle).
- Find the contacts at each account.
- Push the research and contacts to HubSpot, after a preview. Every push can be rolled back.
The lead intelligence pipeline guide explains stages 1–5; the HubSpot push guide explains stage 6 and rollback.
To see where the list stands at any time: "How many target accounts do we have on file?" Nexus reads the real count from the saved list, never an estimate.
Maintain
- Refresh the ICP every quarter, or after a change in what the client sells or who buys it.
- Discovery is incremental: every new run skips accounts already on the list, so "find 30 more" means 30 new ones.
Prompts
- "What's the setup status of the lead intelligence engine?"
- "How many target accounts do we have on file?"
- "Find 30 more target accounts."
