HubSpot connection and CRM lists
Connecting HubSpot lets Nexus read the client's companies, contacts, deals and owners. It's the first step of the HubSpot CRM and Lead Intelligence engines, and it lets anyone pull lists and exports from the CRM by asking in Slack. Each client has its own connection; one client's portal is never used for another.
What it does
Connecting HubSpot lets Nexus read the client's companies, contacts, deals and owners. It's the first step of the HubSpot CRM and Lead Intelligence engines, and it lets anyone pull lists and exports from the CRM by asking in Slack. Each client has its own connection; one client's portal is never used for another.
Set it up
- "Connect HubSpot." Nexus posts an authorize link in the thread. It works for 15 minutes.
- ✋ Someone who administers the client's HubSpot portal clicks it, signs in, picks the right portal, and clicks Connect. Nexus replies in the thread when it's done.
The connection includes write access, used only by the approved lead-intelligence pushes. A portal connected before write access existed needs a new grant: "Reconnect HubSpot." (same flow).
Use it
- "List their HubSpot companies that are customers." Up to 50 rows come back in Slack, with the total.
- "Export all customer contacts to a sheet." The full list (up to 1,000 rows) goes into a Google Sheet in the client's Drive folder.
- "How many contacts are in the opportunity lifecycle stage?"
Fresh connection? "Run a CRM hygiene audit." gives a first look at the data quality.
Ask for a sheet whenever you want the actual list or need to share it; long lists are hard to read in Slack.
Troubleshooting
- Nexus says HubSpot isn't connected. Connect it first; nothing needs a ticket.
- The link expired. Ask again for a fresh one.
- A push fails with a permission or scope error. Reconnect HubSpot to grant write access.
Prompts
- "Connect HubSpot."
- "Reconnect HubSpot."
- "List their HubSpot companies that are customers."
- "Export all customer contacts to a sheet."
- "How many contacts are in the opportunity lifecycle stage?"
- "Run a CRM hygiene audit."
