Google Ads campaign builder

The campaign builder writes a new Google Ads Search campaign: themed ad groups, keywords with match types, and responsive search ads. It builds from the client's keyword universe, G2M, brand voice and paid ads strategy. You get it as a Google Sheet for Google Ads Editor, or pushed into the account paused for you to review and turn on.

What it does

The campaign builder writes a new Google Ads Search campaign: themed ad groups, keywords with match types, and responsive search ads. It builds from the client's keyword universe, G2M, brand voice and paid ads strategy. You get it as a Google Sheet for Google Ads Editor, or pushed into the account paused for you to review and turn on.

Set it up

  • Run keyword research first for keywords with real search demand. Without a keyword universe, Nexus works from the G2M and your notes, and says so.
  • ✋ For a direct push, the Google Ads account must be connected: "Their Google Ads customer ID is 123-456-7890." Use the client's own account ID, not a manager (MCC) account.

Use it

  1. "Build a Google Ads campaign." Nexus asks two things first: sheet or direct push, and which locations to target. Answer both. The Editor sheet does not carry location targeting, so set it in Editor before posting, or the campaign shows everywhere.
  2. Say every choice you care about in the same message: daily budget, bidding (Maximize conversions, Target CPA and so on), match types, how many headlines and descriptions, the landing page URL with its UTMs, sitelinks. Each goes into the campaign exactly as you wrote it.
  3. To change it, say what to change: "Remove ad group 4 from the campaign." or "Change the campaign budget to 50 a day." Nexus keeps the rest and sends a new sheet link.

If you chose the sheet: ✋ download it as CSV, import it in Google Ads Editor, review, and post.

If you chose direct push:

  1. "Preview the push to Google Ads." Google checks the campaign without creating anything.
  2. ✋ Say yes. The campaign is created PAUSED. Nexus never turns a campaign on; you enable it in Google Ads after a final look.

Troubleshooting

  • The preview says Nexus's Google Ads access isn't approved for live changes. Use the sheet and Google Ads Editor instead. The message says where that access is set.
  • "Operation not permitted for context". The ID is a manager account. Give the client's own account ID.
  • Nexus describes a campaign but there's no sheet link. Ask again for the campaign; a campaign only exists once Nexus sends the sheet link.

Prompts

  • "Their Google Ads customer ID is 123-456-7890."
  • "Build a Google Ads campaign."
  • "Remove ad group 4 from the campaign."
  • "Change the campaign budget to 50 a day."
  • "Preview the push to Google Ads."
