Internal links
Nexus indexes every page on the client's site (its type, pillar and keywords) so each article links to real, relevant pages: the pillar page, a few sibling pages from the same pillar, and one or two service or product pages.
What it does
Nexus indexes every page on the client's site (its type, pillar and keywords) so each article links to real, relevant pages: the pillar page, a few sibling pages from the same pillar, and one or two service or product pages.
Set it up
The site is indexed at onboarding and re-checked daily. To force it now: "Reindex the sitemap."
Check and curate
- "Is the sitemap up to date?"
- "Open the link inventory." Both inventories (site pages and outside sources), with the pieces that use each link.
- A page with no pillar or the wrong page type links badly; fix the pillars in the content strategy, then reindex.
Use it
- Links are picked per section in every brief and placed in the draft.
- Point more links at a page that needs support: "Which pages should link to /services/maintenance?"
Troubleshooting
- Links look irrelevant. The sitemap may be stale or missing: check it, then reindex.
- A link 404s. Dead pages are dropped at the next index; reindex now to drop it at once.
Prompts
- "Reindex the sitemap."
- "Is the sitemap up to date?"
- "Open the link inventory."
- "Which pages should link to /services/maintenance?"
