# Webinar event room

## What it does

Nexus hosts the webinar itself. Each webinar gets a public page with a registration form. Registering gives a person their own link into the event room: the video player, live chat, questions others can vote on, polls, and a call-to-action button. After the event, the same link plays the replay.

The video comes from a streaming service (Mux). Speakers stream from StreamYard, Riverside or OBS to the server and key shown in the host console.

People who register get emails from the client's own address: a confirmation with a calendar invite, a reminder the day before and an hour before, a "we're live" note, and "the replay is ready". Nobody who didn't register gets an email from Nexus.

## Set it up

1. Write the page copy first: **"Draft the webinar landing page copy."** It uses the brief and the strategy. Nexus answers with a preview link: the page exactly as it will look, with the form switched off. Nothing is public yet.
2. Set the sender once per client: **"Send the webinar emails from events@acme.com."** The address must be on a domain verified for sending.
3. Publish: **"Publish the webinar page."** Nexus shows what will go live, then publishes when you say yes. You get the public link and one tracking link per channel (LinkedIn, email, website, each speaker), so you can see where registrations came from.
4. The hosts get the host console link by direct message. It shows the streaming server and key for the studio, the question queue, and moderation. Keep it private.

## During the event

- Questions from attendees appear in the webinar's Slack thread with an id. Answer one: **"Answer the webinar question m_1a2b: yes, it works with HubSpot."** The answer appears in the room.
- Every few minutes Nexus posts a short triage for the host: duplicates merged, the most-voted questions first, suggested answers from what the client has told Nexus.
- Change the room from Slack: **"Switch the webinar chat to questions only."** Or pin the CTA, or launch a poll.
- The stream runs a few seconds behind, so answer from the question list rather than the live chat.

## Troubleshooting

- **The page won't publish: the event room isn't configured.** An operator has to finish the setup above.
- **Emails aren't going out.** No sender is set for the client, or the sender's domain isn't verified. The event room records the provider's error per email.
- **No video at the start time.** Nexus posts a warning in the thread if no stream arrives two minutes after the start. Check the studio is streaming to the server and key in the host console.
