# Company Social calendar

## What it does

The Company Social calendar holds the company's own posts: the LinkedIn page, Instagram, Facebook and Google Business. Each post has a date, channel, format, status, copy, a creative direction (the brief for the visual) and its creatives. It lives on the Company Social dashboard; authors' own LinkedIn posts are on the separate Thought Leadership dashboard.

## Set it up

1. Build the social strategy first. The planner takes its pillars, formats and cadence from it.
2. **"Plan next month's social posts."** Nexus plans the month and returns a Google Sheet tab and the dashboard link. Instagram and Facebook get one shared post by default; ask for different content per platform only if you want it.
3. Already have a plan in a spreadsheet? **"Import the posts from this sheet: [link]."** Nexus shows how many rows it found, then imports them on the sheet's own dates.
4. Need ideas first? **"Give me 10 Instagram post ideas."** Nothing is saved until you pick some.

## Check and curate

- **"Open the social dashboard."** Status, creative status, live URL and comments are editable in the table.
- Click a post's title to open its popup: the full copy with a character count, the creative direction, the creatives, the copy check, and the source. Edits save on their own.
- **"Hide the Creative column on the social calendar."**
- Change the rhythm: **"Post 3 times a week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday starting October 13."** Each channel keeps its own cadence; with several channels, Nexus asks which ones to move.
- Same message on two channels: **"These are the same post on LinkedIn and Instagram, post them the same day."**
- **"Export the social calendar to a Google Sheet."**

## Use it

Copy comes first, then creatives:

1. **"Draft the copy for the Company Social posts dated October 14 to 21."** Carousel and video posts also get their slide copy. Review it in the popups.
2. Make the creative for each approved post:
   - **"Make the image for the post [title]."**
   - **"Make the carousel for the post [title]."**
   - **"Make the video for the post [title]."** A 9:16 slide video from the approved slide copy. Adjust it with **"Make the logo bigger in the video."**
3. Or do one post end to end: **"Produce the post [title] end to end."** (copy, check, one revision, image).
4. **"QA the post [title]."** checks the hook, length limits, hashtags, CTA and banned phrases.

A carousel or video with no approved slide copy is refused until the copy is drafted.

## Maintain

- Instagram and Facebook posts aren't published by Nexus. Post them yourself, then: **"Mark [title] as published at [url]."**
- LinkedIn and Google Business posts can publish from Nexus (see their guides).

## Troubleshooting

- **The planner says there's no social strategy.** Build it first (social strategy guide).
- **A post I named can't be found.** Give its title or date; Nexus searches both dashboards.
- **I asked for "social" and got the company posts.** That's the default. Say "thought leadership" or the author's name for theirs.
