# Image library

## What it does

The image library lets articles and social posts use the client's real photos instead of generated images. Nexus reads a Drive folder, tags every photo (what it shows, its style and quality, which pillar and persona it fits), and offers the best match for each piece.

## Set it up

1. ✋ Share the client's Drive photo folder with the Google account your Nexus team gave you as **Viewer**. A curated folder of the best shots works better than a raw shoot.
2. **"Connect this folder to the image library: [Drive folder link]."**
3. A folder with more than 200 images asks first, and offers to keep one photo per shot (bursts of near-identical frames). Reply **"one per shot"** or **"all"**.
4. Tagging takes a few minutes. **"Open the image library."** shows every photo with its tags.

## Check and curate

- Fix a tag or hide a photo on the image library page, or in Slack: **"Hide the image IMG_0412 from the library."**
- Replace the folder: "Use this folder instead: [link]." Photos from the old folder leave the library; their history is kept.
- Added photos to the folder? **"Reindex the image library."** reads it again and tags the new ones.

## Use it

- For a blog's hero image, Nexus uses a library photo on its own only when it's a strong match. Otherwise it suggests photos: **"Suggest a photo from the library for [title]."**
- Pin one yourself: **"Use the library photo IMG_0412 as the hero image of [title]."**
- Find photos: **"Find photos of our warehouse team."**

A client's photo is never altered by AI; it's only cropped to the image size.

## Troubleshooting

- **The message says "Nexus can't read the folder."** It isn't shared with the Google account your Nexus team gave you, or it's shared with a different account. Share it and connect again.
- **No photos come up for a topic.** The tags don't match: check them on the library page.
