# G2M strategy

## What it does

The G2M is the client's go-to-market strategy: positioning, ideal customers, offer, competitors, tone and no-go topics. Nearly every piece of work reads it, so it's the first thing to get right.

## Set it up

There are two ways:

- **The client has a strategy document:** **"Build the G2M from this doc: [link]."** You can give several links.
- **There is none:** **"Build the G2M from their website."** Nexus researches the site and competitors (about 5 minutes). Sections it can't learn from the web are marked "to confirm with the team".

✋ Share the document with the Google account your Nexus team gave you first if it isn't public.

## Check and curate

1. **"Open the strategy dashboard."** Every section is shown with whether a person changed it.
2. Fill the "to confirm" sections (business goals, unit economics, no-go topics) with the client.
3. Change a section: **"Update the G2M positioning: we focus on mid-size fleets."**
4. When it's right: **"Approve the G2M."**

The client can comment in the G2M Google Doc. To apply their comments: **"Read the comments on the G2M doc."** then **"Apply the comments to the G2M."** Each comment gets a reply in the doc.

## Maintain

Revisit it quarterly or after a positioning change. Sections a person edited are kept when the G2M is rebuilt.
