# Case studies

## What it does

Nexus helps you turn happy customers into case studies, in three steps.

**1. Find the right customers.** Nexus reads the closed-won deals in HubSpot (the last 12 months by default) and ranks the customers by deal size, how long ago they closed (three to nine months is best: the results are in), how long they've been a customer, whether they bought again, and how well their industry fits the ideal customer profile in the G2M. Each one comes with the reasons and the main contact on the deal. Nothing in HubSpot changes.

**2. Prepare the interview.** For the customer you pick, Nexus writes an interview kit as a Google Doc in the client's Case Studies folder: an outreach note asking for the interview, and an interview guide covering the challenge before, why they chose you, the implementation, measurable results, quotable moments, and permission and approval. ✋ The outreach note is a draft. Nexus never sends it.

**3. Turn the interview into a case study.** Share the transcript. Nexus adds it to the client's knowledge base, pulls out the story, and adds a case study to the content calendar with that story attached. Writing it then follows the usual content pipeline: brief, draft, QA and publish.

Two checks happen in code, not by trust:
- A quote is kept only if it appears word for word in the transcript.
- A result is kept only if every number in it is one the customer actually said.

Anything dropped is listed, so you can go back to the customer for it.

✋ Every case study is marked **NEEDS CUSTOMER APPROVAL** on the calendar and never publishes automatically. Send the draft to the customer, and publish only once they've approved it and every quote.

## Approval

A case study stays marked NEEDS CUSTOMER APPROVAL until the customer has approved the final draft and every quote. Until then it can be published as a draft in the CMS, but not live. When they approve: **"Acme approved the case study."** Then publish it as usual.

## Set it up

- HubSpot must be connected to find candidates: **"Connect HubSpot."** Without it, you can still name a customer yourself and use steps 2 and 3.
- A G2M with an ideal customer profile makes the industry-fit ranking work.
- A transcript that includes people outside the agency needs your confirmation that the client may share it. Nexus asks before storing anything.

## Troubleshooting

- **HubSpot isn't connected.** Say "Connect HubSpot" and follow the link, then ask again.
- **No closed-won deals found.** Ask for a longer window: "Find case study candidates from the last 24 months."
- **Fewer than two quotes were kept.** The model's quotes didn't match the transcript exactly. Check the transcript is complete, or add the customer's exact words to the draft yourself.
- **It says the case study is already on the calendar.** Write it with "produce" and the piece name it gives you.

## Prompts

- "Connect HubSpot."
- "Who could we do a case study with?"
- "Draft the case study interview questions for Acme."
- "Turn this interview into a case study."
- "Acme approved the case study."
