# Tracked AI questions

## What it does

The tracked AI questions are the buyer questions Nexus asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini every month to see whether they name and cite the client. Using the same questions each month is what makes the month-over-month numbers comparable.

## Set it up

1. **"Build the AEO prompts."** Nexus drafts about 15 to 20 questions across intents (informational, commercial, comparison, branded) from the G2M, the keyword universe, Search Console questions and the audience. Turning on the AEO/SEO engine does this for you when there are none.
2. **"What best-tool queries should we win?"** Adds the "best X", "X alternatives" and "X vs Y" questions, where comparison pages tend to win the AI answer. Name the competitors first.

## Check and curate

- **"Open the AEO prompt library dashboard."** Every question with how often each engine names and cites the client, and the change against the previous 30 days. Pause, resume or add questions on the page.
- Add one: **"Track this question in AI answers: what is the best fleet maintenance software?"**
- Pause one without deleting it: **"Pause the AEO prompt about pricing."**
- Ask the way a persona would: **"Add persona variants of the AEO prompts."** Variants are reported separately, never mixed into the headline number.

## Use it

- For a comparison question the client loses: **"Draft a comparison page brief for best fleet maintenance software."** The brief has the angle, the comparison table and honest positioning; the content engine writes the page from it.

## Google and Bing AI data

Neither Google's AI Overviews report nor Bing's AI Performance report has an API, so a person exports them:

1. ✋ In Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools, export the AI report to Google Sheets and share it with the Google account your Nexus team gave you.
2. **"Import the Search Console AI Overviews report: [link]."** or **"Here is the Bing AI performance export: [link]."** Each import is a dated snapshot. Bing's grounding queries are added to the tracked questions automatically.
3. **"How many AI Overview impressions did we get?"** reads the latest import and what changed since the one before.
